Life in the city is often
seen as the men in the dull grey suits or worse still those not old enough to
be dull are labelled yuppies (amongst the more pleasant definitions the
dictionary says, professional career, affluent lifestyle). The reference is
not always meant kindly. I am positive that we could all think up a dream job,
but equally positive that even if our abilities were up to it the market could
not carry that many superstar self made heroes. We can't all be engineers or
astronauts but we can avoid dull, and fuelling ones passions is one of the
keys that make us individual. To be consumed with enjoyment for work and for
it to become ones lifeblood is only for the lucky few. Most are familiar with
"Work the necessary evil", so best we make the reasons for our day job
worthwhile.
Past Lloyd's Motor Club Chairman, Ian Bracey and Current Treasurer, Brian Chick certainly did - racing a Hillman Avenger as first timers on the 73 Avon Motor Tour. On the basis of try anything once, They ended up with Boss Mustang out in 75. |
